Natural Calacatta without the Cost and Maintenance

Quartz is the perfect alternative to Marble

White marble has long held pride of place throughout history as a show of opulence and prestige.  This dates back to the ancient civilisations of the Egyptians, Greeks, and as we commonly associate, the Romans. Many of these structures and installations are still renowned the world over and include the Tal Mahal, which dates back to1632, The Parthenon dating back to 447BC and the Carrara Marble Arch which has stood as the gateway to Buckingham Palace since 1851. Today these beautiful white marbles are readily available, being imported to the UK from Spain, India, and most commonly Italy.

Due to increased popularity, white marble is being specified more frequently in domestic kitchens and is regularly featured by interior magazines and promoted designers. Although the beauty of natural marble is undeniable it is often beyond the budget of many projects. Aside from this, the care and maintenance it requires when used as a worksurface means it may not be the right choice for every kitchen.

Quartz is the Perfect Solution

At Surrey Marble and Granite, we have the ideal solution for those seeking the elegance and natural appeal of natural Calacatta, Arabescato or Statuary marbles, but without the budget or maintenance concerns.

Working closely with the world’s leading Quartz manufacturers, we offer a huge range of very realistic marble alternate options. Not only do these come in at a a fraction of the cost of the marble alternatives but are totally impervious to staining, even from problematic liquids such as tea, coffee, curries and red wine.

Symetrical Patterning

Today, many varieties of Quartz are produced in book-matched patterns which means that veining can be transposed from piece to piece, further emulating the appearance of natural materials. This is also a great option to make a feature of symmetrical patterning across pieces too large to come from one slab. This can be seen to great effect, below on some of our recent installations.

Be Part of the Creative Process

Our experienced team will work alongside you to advise on how to get the most from your chosen patterning. We welcome your input during the fabrication process so you can be a part of your worktops coming to life

In general, these materials need to be viewed in full format to appreciate the overall patterning and tone and we hold many types at our showroom location for viewing. For slabs and materials not seen here or in our stocks, we will arrange visits to the main importers where entire ranges in full slab format can be seen.

Please feel free to come down to see us or send an inquiry through our Contact Us form so we can be part of your next project.
