Custom marble for Super Yachts

The struggle to create the ideal living space is only made more challenging when it has to be seaworthy as well. At Surrey Marble and Granite, our wide experience as professional stoneworkers makes handling the challenges even a super yacht presents simple. Working directly with the owner, with the builder or a project manager, our goal is to create a luxurious yet practical space that works as well underway as it does on the design drawings.

Sourcing unusual stones

Meeting exacting aesthetic standards and rigorous design criteria often means sourcing unusual materials. Working with quarries and suppliers around the world, we are able to source deluxe and unusual marbles for super yachts. Quality is our highest priority, and we only use reliable sources for our finest materials.

It’s important to remember that each slab of a natural marble will have its own unique patterning. For this reason, no two sheets of marble will ever be identical. Even blocks quarried from the same source on the same day will differ, so imagine the variation in colour, veining and quality across the world’s supply. Choosing the right marble for a super yacht project is critical to the success of the interior design.

Creating quality

A sea voyage is a chance to relax and often to entertain friends, family or business associates. As suppliers of marble for super yachts, we contribute to the comfort and satisfaction of the passengers. We take our responsibility seriously, designing and manufacturing high quality pieces at our Surry studio.

Starting with premium materials, we use a combination of traditional stone cutting techniques and state-of-the-art technology to ensure each piece is cut with millimetre accuracy. Our deep understanding of stone lets us apply the right finish and polish to each segment, ensuring that its form is suitable for its function, as well as being aesthetically pleasing.

Custom-cut marble for every project

Mass production has its place, but stone cannot be stamped out like plastic. Working with the natural shape and heft of the material, we create floors, deluxe bathrooms and other marble for super yachts. Each piece is custom-made by our experienced artisans. By templating, manufacturing and installing marble for super yachts ourselves, we are able to ensure that our high quality standards are maintained throughout the process.

Bespoke stonework is the only way to ensure that the unusual shapes and requirements of a super yacht are met. As the vessel must, first and foremost, be seaworthy, its shape and dimensions are dictated by its performance and the physical power of the sea. Working with these restrictions, we create individual elements that enhance the beauty of the vessel without bowing to its limitations. Ultimately, a yacht is a home-away-from-home, and its beauty and comforts should reflect the needs, desires and personal style of its owner. As experienced artisans, enhancing these beautiful vessels with an exquisite interior is an honour and a joy.

Tiles don’t have to be plain, dull or matching. Both individual decorative tiles and decorative tiling patterns made from plain tiles have been used to make homes and businesses more beautiful since Roman times. In the ruins of Pompeii, you can still see ancient tiles arranged in mosaics, bands of colour and painted with plants and flowers.

white quartz worktops

Some of the most dramatic kitchen looks we’ve seen in 2017 have used marble, and this is a trend that’s easy to bring home. You might not have the space for a 2m marble-fronted kitchen island, but you can still have a marble worktop – or something that looks very similar. Both natural stone and engineered stones, such as Silestone, are popular this season. Stones that look like marble We’ve covered quartz worktops that look like marble before, and there are several reasons – besides price – that you might prefer an […]
