What’s the Alternative to Full Service?
Today, 90% of everything is made overseas and brought to the UK, typically in shipping containers. This means that when you place an order for a new kitchen, for example, with a department store or kitchen specialist, they’ll place orders on your behalf for dozens or hundreds of items, from hinges to doorknobs, tiles to sinks. This is fine for off-the-shelf items, as it’s generally straightforward to replace one doorknob with another. However, it can cause real problems with items which need to be bespoke. This includes kitchen worktops, as the company won’t have any control over the manufacturing of the item. This then gives them very limited control over delivery times and correcting mistakes.
