Granite is a common and widely occurring type of intrusive rock (hot lava) it also includes felsic , (light in colour) and lastly it contains igneous rock (main rock, above sea level). Granite is the second most strong rock after the rock diamond. Granite has a medium to coarse texture, sometimes with individual crystals being larger than the groundmass, which forms a rock known as porphyry or igneous making up 60% of the earth’s crust. Granites can be pink to dark grey or even black, depending on their chemistry and mineralogy (minerals).
Granite is generally always very large breaking off in massive heavy chunks and in every case the granite being very tough and hard. This is why it has become so widely populated in the construction world, due to its robust factors. The word “granite” comes from the Latin granum, a “grain”, in reference to the coarse-grained structure of a pretty crystalline rock (a mineral rock).
